Hi guys... I was just wondering if someone out there know that
- How long will it take me if i drive from Dubai (United Arab Emirates) to Jeddah (Saudi Arabia)?
- Hows the journey like?
- Safe to drive? or rather travel by air?

I am planning to visit dubai in august and was thinking if its a good drive from dubi to saudia in a rental company car. I have heard that those countries got really good road network and unlike UK petrol is cheaper then a bottle of mineral water. I enjoy driving as well so might as well experience the driving in middle east as well.

I have several step kids... One flew in on Christmas day and ended up messing Christmas up completly... I worked all day and we were supposed to open presents hen I got home. Instead my husband drvoe to another city to pick up his son. There went Christmas...

Now.. his daughter flew into town.. with the *supposed* money bags boyfriend of the month and she is asking her father to rent her a veh on his credit card so it will be cheaper ?(they are under 25 and rental cars charge a surcharge) I am against it for several reasons.. 1.) She is an adult and needs to learn to be responsible for herself...2.) Its new years weekend... not exactly safe on the roads to be out at all hours... 3.) The rental car is now our financial responsibility should she get in an accident. 4.) Her brother is an alcoholic and will likely try to drive it.

I am against it.. and its causing a problem with my husband.. am I being unreasonable?

I'm going to Bal Harbour in late February. I'd like to get a car rental from Fort Lauderdale airport, but its about $75 per day right now. Will the prices drop if I wait until the week before I leave to rent the car? (I'm not really that bothered if I don't end up getting the car, but it would be nice to have one.) im a college student from the mainland and im thinking about taking a summer class at UH Manoa. i would be there for 6-7 weeks and i was going to check on getting transferred (i work in retail) to ala moana for the little while im there to make some money, because we have a store there. anyways, for only 6-7 weeks im pretty sure it would be dumb to ship a car there and back SO my question is this: does anyone know of a way or a company that offers discounts on long-term car rentals? kind of like hotels that rent long term for cheaper rates? or does anyone simply have any advice about it? i know theres public transportation but going to school and working and wanting to have some fun all at the same time equals me wanting the freedom of my own vehicle to get around in. anyways, any advice would br helpful. thanks.

We've been planning a DW trip for a couple of weeks now. Here's the scenerio so far: going from 6/8-6/15, there will be my family (husband, 11 y.o. daughter & me), and my sister's family (her husband, 11 y.o. daughter, 14 y.o. son, & my sister). We have decided to share a 3 bedroom/2 bath condo (much cheaper/nicer than a hotel room), we're flying in & each family will get their own rental car. We are definately going to DW, Universal & the beach. We want to have plenty of things planned without overdoing it. If we mostly want to go to DW & Animal Kingdom at that park, how many days you think we should give ourselves? And how many days for Universal & Island of Ad.park? Anything else you might suggest we do? Oh, we thought a 2-day ticket to DW park would be enough & you can buy a ticket for $85 to Universal & Island with 7 days unlimited so we decided on that.

My friends&I are taking a trip&one of my friends only wants to go and stay for a day and a night. The place we're going is around three hours away, and we're having to take a rental car in addition to one of my friend's cars. Also, my friend wants to have things convenient and doesn't want to stay in any hotels that are not downtown. That's all well and good for her, but for us, the cost of the hotels downtown are very expensive (of course). This hotel is going to come out totaling almost $300 a night for us, and we don't even get to check in until 3 p.m.! So we're paying this amount of money, for a hotel room that we won't even get to have for 24 hours...since we are leaving the following day& have to check out at 12. This is not even taking into account the expenses for the activities we plan to do. I calculated it,&it's going to cost me almost $400 for a one night trip. I want to back out, but don't want to spoil the trip for my friends. Do you think i'm being too cheap? For the sake of preserving friendships, would you just suck it up and go anyway if you were me?

The lady is trying to charge me $850.00 for one little scratch. There was no police involved or no report done because I dont have a valid liscence. I offered to take care of things and she accepted quickly by taking down my number and address now she calls me and says she will need a 3 day rental while her car gets fixed and it will be a total $850.00. I offered to take the car some place cheaper and she said no. Did I mention that my car was really damaged and her car is a bucket? Really old.

Here's my situation: I live in southern California and in June my family will be flying into the SF Bay Area. I will be meeting them up there, we'll spend 2 or 3 days up there, then drive back down to southern CA and spend a week down here. I want to rent a car while they're out here, but not sure which of two options is cheaper/better/wiser: a) I rent the car down here, drive it up to the Bay Area, I meet them up there, we do our thing up there, and then drive it back down here (and return it down here), or b) I fly up there, rent the car up there, we do our thing up there, and then we drive it down here and I return it down here. I haven't tried getting any rental rate quotes yet, and figured you all might be able to give me some advice here. Thanks!
