I was hit in the rear the other day while waiting at a stop light. I was taken to the emergency room by squad with severe neck pain. The insurance adjuster is visting me in two days. So far they have provided me with a rental car (I still can't drive) and made an appointment for me to get my car fixed at a shop I like. My question is what am I agreeing to if I settle with the adjuster? Will they offer me compensation for the pain, medical bills, and car repair? How do I know if I am being taken advantage of? Any advise would be great.

Daughter was rear-ended. At fault driver's insurance co. said they would put her in a rental car even though she's not 25. I specifically asked if they would provide full insurance coverage on the rental car while her car was repaired. The rep left the phone to look that up and returned to tell me that they would provide full coverage. Now they say they don't know who that person was and that they won't provide any insurance coverage for the rental car. The repairs to her car will take an estimated month, so the insurance on a rental at her age will really add up. I'm investigating who took the initial call, since they refuse.

Thank you to the claim adjuster who helped locate the correct insurance co.! My daughter owns her car and decided to only carry liability. She is under 25, and even if she buys full coverage from her insurance company, it won't cover rental cars. Repairs/rental is expected to last at least a month, so the ins through the rental car place on the rental will really rack up a bill. The person who took the claim report checked before saying that they would cover FULL COVERAGE on the rental car. I specifically asked. Now they say they don't even know that person. Small claims court? Just doesn't seem fair that she will have to pay hundreds of dollars out of pocket as a result of the accident that wasn't her fault. The ins co has accepted 100% liability.

Resolved Question: Hawaiian Vacation?

I was rear-ended by a drunk driver 3 months ago on my way to school. This was the guys second DUI, and drugs were involved. I was stopped at a red light, and he knocked me thru the intersection. I was taken by ambulance to the hospital, and had to return the next day due to pain. Since then, I have had several sets of x-rays, a MRI, numerous chiropractor visits, and numerous meds (pain and muscle spasms) My medical bills are over $9000.00. I have had terrible headaches, muscle spasms, stiffness, loss of sleep, loss of concentration, missed work and school, dizziness, tissue damage, and whiplash. The natural curve in my neck is now gone. With over 9000. in medical bills, how much pain and suffering should I expect from his insurance? The state is Kentucky, and he was insured through Nationwide Insurance. I also went 2 weeks without a car, and they didn't offer a rental. They told me they weren't responsible. Any suggestions? His insurance agent (nationwide) said she optimistic we could settle out of court. I'm thinking shes scared, because of his previous record. Wow... I'm reading everything below and kinda shocked. First off, I assumed that being drunk meant he was 100% at fault, and being his second time, I was told they would take that into consideration (by his own insurance company!) Second, I am only 24, have worked out my whole life, and was told by a doctor, a physical therapist, and a chiropractor, that the straightening of my neck WAS a direct result of this accident. I even have the MRI, showing tissue damage around my neck (the muscles were strained and tightened during the accident pulling the curve of my neck.) My vertebra were also out of alignment, which was from the accident as well. I have talked with 3 lawyers and they seem to agree with the retired adjuster below. If this goes to trial before a jury, him being drunk will play a BIG role. Oh, I forgot to mention, after he hit me, he hit another old man...

Open Question: Where does the descriptions from websites come from?

I was involved in a rear end accident where someone hit me from behind but claim that they themselves were hit from behind and thrown into my car and the guy who hit them ran away.I don't know if this is true or not - there was very minor or nodamage to the back of their car and pretty serious damage to the front.
I filed a claim with the other drivers insurance company and they denied my claim saying that the 3rd driver (who supposedly started the pile up) is liable.
I am currently out about $600 in insurance deductibles and rental costs in addition to the whole hassle of dealing with workshops and insurance companies.
Do I have a valid claim? What if I can prove that the person who hit me was at least partially responsible (by her own admission to the police, she was going 25 a few seconds after the light turned green).
Please advise I dont want to get a lawyer if I have no valid claim but hopefully the system wont charge me $600 when i got rear ended.

She always complains that we do not spend quality time together. It is not first time she done this. I told her and her kids have no respect for a house and place they lived at. I if tired to put them in their place she get upset I getting down on them. Stepson and stepdaughter do not clean after themselves. Son leaves empty juice cartons in the fridge and freezer too. Drink all the juice in the house. Like no one else in the house beside him. Then complains that there no food in the house to eat. I told her I been in this apartment for 9 months never had a problems with anyone. Nevertheless, both kids bang on the walls after been told to stop. I told today she have two weeks to get out, she never changed or her kids. Every house they lived in been torn up. Kids put holes in the walls, taking the knobs off the doors. I told her I like a clean house, I taught to respect what you have in life and take care of things. Found my car door open this morning after she drove the car last night to pick up her daughter. My car could have been gone. I told her she has couple of weeks to get out. I asked the rental for a smaller place to live in by next month is open.

Open Question: DID YOU SEE Police Officer To Be Charged After Killing Motorist While Racing To Safe Driving Campaign ?

STATESBORO, GEORGIA - A father was seriously injured and his son was killed Tuesday when a rental trailer they were towing was rear-ended on Interstate 16 by a police officer who specializes in nabbing aggressive drivers and who was en route to Chatham County to take part in a safe-driving campaign, officials said.

Cpl. Robert Balkcom, an assistant commander of the Georgia State Patrol post in Statesboro, said no charges have been filed yet, but they are likely, against Dougherty County Police Officer Jeremiah Fenn, 25, of Albany.

Officer Fenn was headed to Chatham County to take part in Operation Rolling Thunder, a 90-day effort to curb Savannah’s rising traffic fatality rate with the help of scores of officers from around the state.

Officer Fenn was driving eastbound near Metter when he took his eyes off the road for a second to look at the computer mounted in his car and struck a trailer being towed by an SUV traveling in the same direction and in the same lane, Cpl. Balkcom said.

The video camera in Officer Fenn’s car, which could have recorded the accident, was turned off, Cpl. Balkcom said.

The SUV overturned several times, ejecting Milton Wilcox, 33, of Savannah, a passenger who was not wearing a seat belt, police said.

Mr. Wilcox was pronounced dead at the scene. His father, William Wilcox, 57, of Savannah, the driver, was airlifted to Savannah’s Memorial Health University Medical Center with serious injuries, Cpl. Balkcom said.

A two-mile eastbound stretch of the interstate was closed for about six hours while members of the Georgia State Patrol’s Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team investigated the accident, Cpl. Balkcom said.

Witnesses told authorities that Officer Fenn’s police car was “traveling at a high rate of speed,” an issue that will be addressed by the investigation, Cpl. Balkcom said.

“There will more than likely be charges,” he said.

Officer Fenn is a participant in a statewide program known as Highway Enforcement of Aggressive Traffic (H.E.A.T.), a collaborative effort of the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety and eight local law enforcement agencies to nab aggressive drivers.

My husband rented a car from a major car rental company and my sister left her sony touchscreen camera in the pocket of one of the doors. She realized she left it there but it was too late. The rental co. contacted the next renter and it was a disconnected number. They looked at rental history and found a working number for her so they left her a message.never returned call.

We expected the car to be returned at 8pm so my sister went to the location to see if it would still be in the car. The lady did not show at 8 so my sister left 30 minutes later at which point the lady arrived with the car so my sister missed her. They have asked emplyees and my sister even offered a reward for it and they could even keep the camera. This was not however offered to the renter because it is against rental co. policy.

This camera had a 4gb memory card with ALL of her infants pictures. Her computer was down so shehad not downloaded them for a while. They are priceless. What else can she do? She doesnt care about the camera AT ALL. She wants the picturs of her infant. She can not buy those back.

He stayed on the phone the entire time with business and waved as he left still on the phone. We planned this last night or let me say I made an appointment last night to have breakfast and he could not give me five minutes.
