Resolved Question: Am I too young to be a car salesman?

I'm 17 years old and will be turning 18 in March of 2008. After graduating high school in June in 2008, I would like to have a job as a car salesman. I've been told that I'm a personable individual and would most likely be successful at a job working with people. Being a car salesman at a dealership would be my ideal temporary job, not career. If hired, I'm only going to be working until I receive my degree. Am I too young to be a car salesman? What are the chances of a dealership hiring me? Do you have any advices or tips for me to have a better chance of getting hired? Thanks.

Resolved Question: vintage wedding car/horse carriage hire?

They are going to Honolulu, Hawaii in November, and it will be their first overseas holiday (all the way from Australia). As they are a family with more then one child, it has been hard trying to find accomadation to fit them all. They have however found luck with the Hilton Hawaiian Village, they are able to fit them all. Is this a nice place to stay, close to the centre of town? They like the resort style pools (love swimming), which is why they've been looking at this hotel. Will they need to hire a car to get around? Is it easy to figure out the whole 'driving on the other side of the road' thing? Where are the best places to visit, especially in early November? Where are affordable, good breakfast joints? They are big foodies, so what else do you recommend? They dont really know anything about Hawaii, so any help is appreciated. Thanks!!

Voting Question: Who pays the cost of a hire car while mine is being repaired?

Open Question: hey does ay1 know any gd websites?

I met my current girlfriend at work a couple years ago. She started working there about 6 months after I started. Anyway, she was 16 at the time of getting hired. The general manager that worked there at the time was 42. One night, my gf lefter her class ring at work and got the GM's number to call him to make sure that he held it. Anyway, as her and I had our normal arguments, she would call our manager and talk to him about us tell him she was upset and whatnot. She called him alot and over time he started falling for her. Her and I broked up for a bit last summer and she talked to him all the time. He started buying her things she wanted. She enjoyed this and liked the fact that she could get anything from him. Anyway, he would say that he loved her getting off the phone and she would say it back, but she claims he knew she was joking. Well, he's now really obsessed with her....he chased us down in my car when we were together one day because he said that he got her a ring for... Valentine's Day this year and that he proposed to her....she was 17 at the time and we were broken up anyway (one of the many times). Anyway, she did have a ring that wasn't from me and said that he gave that ring to one of her friends and that she was only looking at it and held it to give back to the friend. Well, after chasing us down..he messaged me and told that they have been talking for months and he had all these emails from her. I went to talk to him and he did TONS of emails from her....but he only showed me a few of them....it was all things she would say...she says he's lying and he says she's lying.... She claims she hasn't spoken to him since December. She's also lied to me a lot in the past. I'm still lost and confused!!! Please help!! Sorry for the typo's....I typed fast!! I want to know if she lied about emailing him and talking to him...he's still in the picture somewhat.... sending messages to her in MySpace quotes about how she's the one and all....

Voting Question: Trapped your finger in the new Ford Focus door?

I hired a Ford Focus for the day, I only had it 5 minutes and I trapped my finger in the door as I got out of the car. The door seemed to flip shut onto the catch.

I have been driving for 17 years and never done this before, is there a design fault with the new Focus or was this entirely my own fault!

My finger is very badly bruised and swollen.

Resolved Question: employment?

I read this on the Sky News website, purportedly from a resident of the Algarve....

Sorry about this, but it's time someone said something that the locals of Luz haven't said before for fear of upsetting their neighbours, the McCanns. I know FOR A FACT that the twins and Madeleine were being put to bed and BEING LEFT TO CRY night after night. Neighbours in the apartment block where they were staying heard the children crying "daddy, daddy" for several nights, after the parents went out to dinner at 7.30 and didn't get back home till 12.30 am. The staff in the restaurant will confirm the parents didn't leave the restaurant all night. They weren't checking on the children every half an hour... it's a lie. The local residents and holidaymakers in the apartments were aware that the children were left alone every evening, so it was an open invitation for someone with intent to do something to a child. The police should be looking for someone who either lives, works, or was on holiday, in the very near vicinity. Maybe that person had a hire car, took Maddie away in that, then dropped her out, returned the hire car and flew home the next day. I don't believe she has been sold. Nor do I believe the "paedophile ring" story. I believe she's still in the Algarve... probably not far from Luz. Most residents here think the same. This was a crime committed by someone nearby who heard her crying and took the opportunity. Did the police check the lixo bins, (those big green rubbish skips in every road) or the place where the rubbish goes when the bins are emptied? Sorry to say it, but people dump dogs, cats, chickens, even sheep in those. So why not a child?
My heart bleeds for the McCanns, but more so for little Maddy, who was failed by the people she loved. I hope and pray that she gets found.

Posted by: A local resident, Algarve 2 Jun 2007 22:54:58 Thing is ERIKA, that statement is not mine - I have merely copied and pasted it - apologies if it wasn't obvious to you, although it seems pretty obvious to me when I look at the post... Okay, I see paintedtearz has made the same error and doubtless, when I read on, others will have to...SO, PLEASE READ MY OPENING STATEMENT WHICH I NOW REPEAT...

I read this on the Sky News website, purportedly from a resident of the Algarve.... Jobylee: Why don't you search on the SKY website then? I don't make things up, you know!! As for making assumptions, read your OWN answer - quite a few assumptions there - in short, I don't think I am 'out of order' at all. Nor do I fall for the rubbish spouted by some McCann 'supporters' - do you people not have brains of your own?....actually, please don't bother answering. eirefairiemom - THANK YOU for putting the link up - I was out all day and didn't have time, although I should have thought about it for some of the other readers... Lesroys: Good, articulate points - I concur entirely and thank you for your insight and measured response...as always. Thanks LEXY - a few things to ponder there and I'm sure we will! Just on the point about checking up every half hour, the waiters and staff at the 'restaurant' state that the McCanns never left their table to go checking once, although some of the other parents apparently did go out once or twice...for what it's worth, I don't think that the McCanns did check up but even if they did, it only takes a MINUTE for something to happen to a child (not necessarily abduction, the child could hurt himself/herself etc etc). Hi Tink,

Good to hear from you!! Just a bit tired of how the McCanns have gone about this...I think there is a bandwagon as you state but I think that bandwagon is the vehicle that the McCanns are using, not a bandwagon that people have jumped on against them. The fact that there is well over half a million in the 'fund' of their LIMITED COMPANY shows the amount of support for their bandwagon...thing is, it's not about a commercial celebrity tour, it's about a little girl who is STILL MISSING. Perhaps somebody should remind Gerry and Kate of that fact... wildamberhoney's kitten (phew, a bit of typing there...lol) - Yes, good points and fair comments which I take on board.

Resolved Question: Do more Americans need to train for 'blue collar' jobs?

It seems these days people are expected to go to college. But, many fail at it and I think more people need to train for the 'trades'. We need electricians, plumbers, car mechanics, and any number of 'blue collar' jobs. Companies are hiring too many illegal immigrants, who are untrained and incompetant. The media should start a campaign to attract Americans to train for these jobs. TV networks could start talking about this insead of spending most of their time trying to brainwash us against the Republican Party.

Open Question: Rear-ended, should I get a lawyer?

I was rear-ended yesterday in a parking lot where the speed limit would typically be areound 15 mph. I was stopped (on a hill) with a car in front of me when I was rear-ended by a lady in a jeep going about 30 mph. Luckily, I didn't hit the car in front of me, but the person who hit me pushed me about 2 feet. The back hatch of my van is completely crushed, the drivers side back door is puched toward the front of my van and is not sitting flush with the rest of the van, and it looks as if she may have bent the frame. I was taken to the ER by ambulance because of excrutiating back pain and was told I strained the muscles and I have whiplash. I went back to the doctors today because the pain was worse and they suggested physical therapy. The woman who hit me acted very non-chalant about the accident and was even chuckling as she got out of her vehicle. Now I am in horrible pain and have no vehicle to drive and just wanted to see if I should hire a lawyer? Any suggestions? Yes, there was a police report filed, and yes, my insurance company was notified. To the people who are giving me grief about wondering if I should get a lawyer, you must have a guilty conscience or something considering all you think I am after is money. I did call my insurance company and they said that I have two options, either I can go through them and pay my deductible, ya da ya da, or I can deal with the at fault parties insurance myself. I am just trying to get my car fixed, a rental, and my medical bills paid.

I'm waiting to hear back from an employer about a pharmacuetical job, I worried that my background check could cause me some problems. my friend got hired at a postiton that would be above me IF i get hired, but he doesnt get a say in who to hire.
