I want to rent a car to drive from Seattle to Portland, OR. It takes about three hours. After stay in Portland one night, I will drive back to Seattle with three other passengers & two big suitcases.
I would like to know which kind of car should choose to have better comfort during the journey. As my parents are old and they aren't used to have long-hour ride.
What are the differences among Premium, Luxury, Minivan & SUV? I am not familiar with cars. They just seem the same to me.
By the way, are there any differences to rent the same car type from different car rental company? It seems "Budget" is much cheaper than "Alamo" or "Hertz".

I arranged a car rental, to be picked up at the airport. My online estimate of charges was $435. My final bill was $913. The Alamo rental co. added the extra charges for 2 types of insurance to the agreement without tell me and without my consent. When I got to the airport, they told me to sign the agreement. When I returned the car, i noticed the charges. When I protested, they said too bad; I should have read the agreement carefully.

I am flying to Baton Rouge,LA on Friday the 18th. My flight is going to land in Baton Rouge at 12:00am midnight. I need to go to Lafayette, LA from Baton Rouge right away. I thought of renting a car at the airport and drive to Lafayette. But to my surprise none of the rental car companies (Enterprise, Alamo, Budget, Hertz, National...) all are closed after 10pm/11pm.
Please give me some ideas, how I can reach Lafayette... this is very important. I would greatly appreciate your adivce..
